Clothes that start a conversation are my favourite type of clothes. Fun little statement pieces that you can whip out for parties or events and be almost guaranteed no one has the same threads on. Which, in an industry where trends are the driving force of sales, can be a little tricky from time to time.
I’ve had nothing but complements on this little number* from Rosegal. They’re another China based company similar to Choies and Romwe, but lean more towards unique pieces and vintage fashion. I browsed through their website and added quiiiite a few pieces to my wishlist, but eventually settled on the retro style scoop neck sleeveless jacquard dress* you can see in the pictures above.
Shipping was a pretty standard affair, I received my parcel within the usual time frame of 15 working days, packaged neatly and securely.
Quality wise, the dress exceeded my expectations: it’s soft cotton, yet holds its shape well – the pleats make the skirt poof at the waist, and we all know I love a good bit of poof. It isn’t lined, but there isn’t really a need for lining as the seams are finished well and the material isn’t in the slightest bit see through (always a perk). I’m trying to work out which country the print is of (Italy??),
The only bad thing is that it’s marginally too big for me, and I received the smallest size available, so there isn’t really that much that can be done. It still sits really well on me though, and I am just a little bit in love.
I’d say Rosegal is definitely one of the more legitimate China-based online clothing shops – there seems to be a number of happy customers (and photo evidence) of received items, which I know is something people do like to see, as the items or service bloggers receive vs that of the general public can be worlds apart sometimes. Thankfully Rosegal does not seem to be the duping kind.
What do you think of this dress? I’d love to hear – and also if you’ve had any experience with Rosegal before.
